Think of the dumbest person you know. Not someone who is mentally retarded or anything, but someone who functions normally in society but you just think, "Man, that guy is dumb." Someone who is just slow and plodding and doesn't follow along or "keep up."
To someone with a really high IQ, that is what talking to a smart person feels like.
Now that doesn't mean you can't find a way to effectively communicate or relate to a dull person.
Just like having a high IQ doesn't mean it's impossible to relate to a smart person or above average person.
But it definitely takes a certain set of skills and requires mastery of learned behavior.
