Cali is an unreformable state, headed down because of bad government. Inequality is the worst there (THANK YOU, Obama! Dems...), with the worst poverty in the US and the worst schools in the US. Fortunately, in your job, you'll be insulated from Cali's dysfunctionalism; you're there to work and live, not marry her. So be happy!
Just make sure your stay there is temporary - you don't want to flee like small business and the wealthy are under its oppressive tax burden.
