I'm headed to Saigon aka Ho Chi Minh City in November for a week. I've read that lots of hotels won't allow foreigners to bring local girls into their rooms at night. Ostensibly, this is to prevent prostitution, although it just seems like a needless cockblock by the Vietcrip government to me, personally.
Any ideas on how to circumvent this? I'd think that some of the SEA experts would be able to chime in with some good tips. A few notes:
- I'm Asian but not Vietnamese and can't speak the language
- I have local friends who are showing me around, maybe they can vouch for me?
- Staying at either the Park Hyatt or the Asiana Intercontinental in District 1
- Last time I was in town was 2002 and it was with work so just ended up doing P4P on the company's dime the entire time I was there. This time looking to put my skills to the test without any money involved... Although to be fair, I'm nowhere near as adamant against hookers as a lot of the posters here.
