Interesting. I could partially vouch for your statement, being a senior in high school myself. For dances in my high school I would say that close to half the guys exhibit this behavior. But for the people with dates, which composes a significant portion of the people there, it's a completely different story. Juking and grinding is common at our dances, which is pretty much how kids at our school dance anyway. So there's a fairly even mixture of shy beta guys and ballsy dudes who usually have dates. A lot of people actually go in groups. I wonder if this increasing shyness phenomena is just a regional thing.
