Most public companies are, they don't give a shit about boosting the unemployment rate, only profits. Technology is even reducing the need for upper level managers with enhanced reporting and more detailed analytics. Scary world we live in, its not just the bottom rung getting the axe. I see highly trained and educated people getting the ax far too often. If I could find a way to start my own business I'd have done so already.
