I recently dated a foreign girl that's been in the U.S. for a few years and now works at a corporation. Her job is her life. Not as a matter of necessity but as a matter of choice. It gave her an identity (and endless work-life conversation fodder). Every conversation circled back to her job...how she excelled at her responsibilities, how she hoped on being promoted, how her job influenced the world, how she impressed her coworkers and bosses.
Sadly, this is the case in modern America with both males and females.

"...it's the quiet cool...it's for someone who's been through the struggle and come out on the other side smelling like money and pussy."
"put her in the taxi, put her number in the trash can"
