@Athlone- Yes you are right. This is do-able if you can swallow your ego, but you finish all this schooling and the natural instinct is to splurge.
1 point of contention- Carson sucks. Not that safe. Its far from everything. You are going to be sitting on congested freeways in traffic for hours and hours. For a person on-call, this is not a viable option. I get your point though. Live below your means- aka rent.
