Pointing out parallels to this "scandal" (or much worse examples) in the recent past doesn't amount to supporting Obama. I'm one of his most vocal critics. This isn't a two-sided, good-guys-versus-bad-guys contest.
I'm simply pointing out that the Obama-hating often blinds people to much worse things that have gone down, and encourages them to attribute blame to him for things that are bigger than him, or anyone else for that matter (e.g., corporate ownership of our entire political system).
