Cambodia

Some seriously negative haters on Cambodia... take the silver spoon out...

Here's my two cents: The girls aren't special so expect to go for the sights and let your sack rejuvenate for the 5-days you'll need to kick it in Cambodia; then return to Thailand and go balls-out.

But you shouldn't miss the Killing Fields, S-21 Prison, and the firing range in Phonm Penh.--you can fire a frigg'n grenade launcher at a cow for $500usd; $250 for the cow inclusive in the price. Eat and hang out either by the riverside or in the large expat area just north of the Naga World Casino (around crossroads of 310 and 51) and try to tell me you were served a meal less than superb. Eat at 'Le Wok', 'Pacharan', 'Cafe Fresco', 'Aussie XL', 'Freebird', or any place the patrons of these places tell you go and try to tell me you've seen a rat, cockroach, shit, or had a bad feed; you'd be lying.--and also try to spend more than $100 in a night on food and drinks, it will be difficult. Stay at NagaWorld; it's decent but not the Ritz.

Even if your not a Temple roamer or sights slut, do yourself a favor and see the Temples.--I like the Bayon. I usually don't get fired up about these things but this shit was pretty inspiring. Eat at 'The Nest' and get a steak or surf and Turf; if you're not happy with the meal...bury your head in the sand.

All up you can see most of the sites and in 4-5 days if you fly to Siem Reap from Phonm Penh (like I did) instead of taking some insane 15 hr broke-ass bus.

Now, the place must have cleaned up quickly or these other guys were around when the Khmer Rouge were still slaughtering their people (only 30 years ago) because looking at these pics you'll see the place isn't as much of a cockroach infested shit-hole that they're making it out to be. If you're still not convinced, harden up. Think about like getting fresh tracks in a off-piste shoot down a slope....though most feel comfortable sticking to the groomers like the majority of the skiers.

Cheers--
