1) One pound every other day = 1750kcal deficit per day. Unrealistic and will almost certainly be catabolic. Bad.
2) The 1-2 weeks you CAN lose up to 10lbs, but only if you cut out 90% of carbs. The loss will be entirely due to less water in your muscles (carbs bind water).
This is not what you want, unless you want to look skinny-fat.
