I am by no means an expert on Colombia racial dynamics/relations but with regards to African Americans and local women knowing Spanish makes a huge difference. I had a great time in Medellin which I didn't expect because Colombia chicks in NY can be a hit or miss.
Colombian girls in New York/Miami are basically, damaged goods. Their innocence, innocent charm, and lots of things that make them fun to be with in their own country are stripped away. I stay away from New York, or any Colombian woman that has lived in the US for more than 3 years.
