Why are women attracted by money?

Factor A) women are attracted to power and success. In our very plutocratic society, having large amounts of money, or at least more than the next guy, signals this.

Factor B) women subconsciously desire a man whom they perceive as being able to provide them with security. Money ticks this box because it's well understood that, up to a point, more money generally equals more security, and more insulation from the ordinary ups and downs of life.

Factor C) women consciously desire a lifestyle which gratifies their caprices. The more money a man has, the more easily they can spend their mornings sipping delicious lattes and gossiping with their girlfriends at Starbucks and showing off the latest fashions instead of cooking, hoeing the vegetable patch, darning socks, or washing clothes on a rock down by the river.

A man showing that he has money, therefore, engages in a very effective mating strategy because he appeals to a woman on several different levels. I think the only reason we see girls choosing to be with complete bums today is that feminism has empowered women to be more economically independent, so a good provider isn't the dire necessity it was in times past, when it could well be a matter of life and death. Men nowadays in the west all generally have *some* money, so a girl can afford to be pickier and discriminate based on more subjective factors like looks, personality, (which ties into game) etc. The corporate guy, with his money, might be appealing to a girl, but when she's living comfortably herself, there are hundreds of other dudes more interesting, so he doesn't even get the time of day, particularly if the girl in question has been raised in the neo-hippie SWPL "eww, office jobs are evil, starving artists are cool" milieu which is so common today among younger people.
