Sydney Logistics

Yo....I just returned from Sydney. I was there for two weeks....here are my thoughts:

Accomodations: I stayed in the Oaks Goldsbrough Apartments/Hotel in Pyrmont...address is 243 Pyrmont Street. This place was fantastic in regards to logistics. A metro station was directly across the street. I could walk to Darling Harbour, the mall, and the casino. There were two of us in this apartment (2 bedrooms). If you stay here, get an upper level room with harbour view. At night, you can't beat the city lights....most chicks never see this view 'cause it's sort of an expensive area to live. There is a work out room and pool. Neither are anything special, but you can burn off some calories if needed.

Food: Shit was expensive! There were four of us all together. We were eating at all of the tourist spots in Darling Harbour, so we were gouged on the prices. No problem, but if you do that be prepared to drop approx $50 a meal. I'd recommend Hurricanes as the best spot for ribs/steak/burgers. Their 'Hurricane' cocktail was magnificent. There was a cafe next to the hotel, so you could eat there for breakfast or lunch....at around $15 - $20. we routinely ate at 'Pancakes on the Rocks' for breakfast (also in the Darling Harbour Mall). If you want to get away for a cool spot to eat...go to 'Bill's' in Surry Hills for breakfast and 'Cafe Martini' in Newtown for drinks and a bit to eat. On Sunday 'Cafe Martini' will have a free bbq spread in the afternoon and the DJ's spin old school hip hop....nice! The Opera Bar next to the opera house was also a fantastic place to grab some eats and pick up. The after work talent here was amazing.

Activities: Well, we did it all. Tour the Opera House and get the low down on the structure, and take pics of the most iconic building in Aus. Walk from Bondi to Coogee beach if you have two hours to spare. The views are spectacular...the girls sunbathing with tops off and the natural beach/cliff/ocean scenary too. We also took a ferry to Manly Beach....not much to see here...doesn't compare to the talent on Bondi. Climb the Harbour Bridge and test your manhood...we did it in the rain....not fun/but an adventure. Lastly, we spent alot of time and money at the Star Casino. A fun place when you're winning, but really not much action here. Seemed like all of the dealers were dudes...yuck!

Women: I'm from the states, and these women have americans beat by a long shot when it comes to body type, attitude, and style. Maybe it's all the walking or outdoors activities but the sheer number of fine, thin, and atheletic white, asian, and indian women were mind boggling to me and my friends. On any busy corner within the CBD (Central Business District), the tourists spots, mall, or beach I saw many women I would game personally....just can't get to the all.

Clubs:
Trademark in KingsCross - tuesday was backpacker night. They played hip hop. The crowd was ok. Apparently backpackers are leaving now that it's turning to Autumn in Sydney. On Thursdays, the crowd here is geared towards Euro/Aussies. More techno. Not much talent, but girls came and went all night. I can't remember the name of the joint, but there is a bar/cafe upstairs on the same corner as this club that is a great pregame spot. Chicks were in groups and open for openers.

The Loft on Kings St Wharf (Darling Harbour) - fantastic spot on Thurs, Fri, or Sat night. This is a lounge with a dance floor that plays hip hop. I've been lots of places and have never seen a ratio that favored women to men like this place. At least 4:1, and the dudes were not gaming at all! Dance floor was packed with girls dancing by themselves. By the way, 18 gets you in the club. I'm 40, and was getting hit on all night. I was like a kid in a candy store.

Pontoon on Darling Harbour just down the street from the Loft - On Friday it's all Asians and hip hop. Need I say more? The same lame dudes were there except they were mainly asian and some white knights holding purses...lol! Saturdays, this spot is more frat boy with the techno blarring.

Home Bar on Darling Harbour. I may have the name wrong, but you can't miss this spot. It's got 3 levels, there playing hip hop and techno throughout the joint. Nothing but young girls and guys. Easy pickings.

Now, there are other places we went to as well. Soda Factory on Sunday for backpackers where they played Hip Hop (place was a sausage festival!), Ivy (supposed to be great, we never went), The Establishment (salsa, but no need to go there when La Sida on Darling Harbour is where are the south americans go), XO....hip hop joint at Marquee (in the Casino...not bad).

Flags: Here is where I confirm the 'black guys are killing it' statement in Sydney. If this isn't the black man's poosy paradise, I don't know where it can be found. As americans, we had high value. As african americans, we were untouchable. No lie. All of the clubs I listed were full of IOIs when we walked in the spot. We were there two weeks, and the first week my boy hooked up with a nice aussie of greek descent, and another white chick he shored from Porkey's strip joint in KingsCross. I had an asian chick I met come up to the room for a drink after clubbling (Pontoon)...we talked while looking at the skyline by night and I was fucking soon after. Why? Mainly 'cause they loved the accent and the fact that we were black. The asian chick said it was like being with a celebrity...lol.

My biggest accomplishment was one that was totally unexpected. I mentioned the 'gym' in our apartment was just 'ok'. My boy found a spot call Hard Candy Fitness very close to Darling Harbour (6 minute jog). I went one day as I needed a real work out, and there was a very cute light skinned black chick working the front desk. When I checked in, I didn't have my ID, so I had to talk to her and the manager a bit...explaining that I was an american just looking for a day pass. It cost about $17, so I gave them a $20. I could see there was some interest from the chick, and I told her to hold the change until after working out. Later, she asked if I wanted the change as I was getting ready to leave, I told her she could give it to me later when we went out for dinner. Got the number, took her out the next day, smashed like never before in the hotel room....btw, the sound of a girl (she was 18) taking some good D for the first time is the type of affirmation I seek when I'm on the prowl...unbelievably sexy. Anyway, this light skinned, hazel eyed, blonde hair, slim beauty was aboriginal! Yep....I got this amazing flag and even I can't believe it. Totally unexpected...fully satisfied (smashed at least 4 more times).
