There will be the usual gun control debate in the media. I hope it doesn't start up on the RVF boards. Gun control has absolutely nothing to do with it. There are countries that are as heavily armed or more as the U.S. that doesn't see this type of violence or as frequently.

If gun laws were stricter people would get them illegally. If guns were somehow removed people would use bombs, or knives, or their bare hands. The discussion here is about violence in American culture. You could have an armed guard in every classroom and these tragedies would still happen.

Roosh is right on. People will mourn, shake their heads, have moments of silence in disbelief, and then a week later everyone's back to do their holiday shopping.

Our culture is deeply broken.

wow...

gun control has EVERYTHING to do with it.

look at Australia... they had a massacre in 1996...

immediately they did something about it. the government brought in the strictest laws in the world. people HAD to hand in their guns and the government payed them cash for doing it or go to jail..so existing guns were eliminated.

and what was the result-not a massacre since.

u need to live there to realise how impossible for the average person to get a gun illegally there. u need to be seriously hooked up.

wow until America wakes up and quits their gun loving ways and outdated constitutional baring arms bullshit these incidents will continue to go on and on..

eliminate guns- slowly eliminate these incidents...simple

I do agree that it's a start and would put a small dent in gun-related violence. I just don't feel that it addresses the larger issue, or could be considered an adequate solution to these incidents.

And the scope of gun availability makes it an absolutely impossible scenario to say, "Eliminate guns." It's just not gonna happen. Just like Prohibition, just like the war on drugs, a crackdown on gun ownership would only fuel the resistance.
