When she first came up on the screen @0:13, I thought it was an SNL-parody character. Even seeing it a second time, it still looks like one of those female characters acting like a nervous, nerdy, uptight girl--complete with permanently shrugged shoulders. It's sort of like that Catholic school girl character Molly Shannon used to do.
I only gave it like 75 percent of my attention, but it looks like she's another one of these girls who's good at mixing all of the Tumblr-style, armchair "feminist" talking-points into a jargon salad. It won't be long before this chick has short(er) hair, a worse attitude, and an online dating profile trumpeting how "artistic" and feminist she is.
It's crazy how she's already displaying that hard edge, patronizing tone, and lower register in her voice that older chicks with these views display. I feel bad for whatever young, naive betas end up having to put up with her sure-to-incrementally-increase shit.
Ted Talks long ago discredited themselves to me. Even at their best, they were reductionist, over-simplified presentations for the hoi polloi. Now they're this kind of shit.
