I think like all this stuff, it depends on who you are and what your vibe is. I've been growing mine out, and it suits both my physical appearance and my demeanour. Consequently, I get hit on a lot at the moment - much more than I did with a shorter, more military style haircut. However, I have friends who would look appear completely incongruent with anything other than a buzz cut.
