A physician friend of mine did 5-7 hookers a week for years, never wore a condom once, and never got an STD - though I think he did knock one up.
For the most part, though, all in all, hookers are way more likely to wear a condom than amateurs, they fuck a lot of compliant beta males, and some studies have shown them to have lower rates of STDs than the female population as a whole.
