Not to digress too much, but I think in my case, maybe as with some girls, when I go out with a friend with the sole purpose of meeting chicks, it's more to use that as a crutch to take away from feeling conscious about going out by myself. The approaching girls part of it, I really don't want a wingman for. Not to mention most of the few friends I hang out with don't have that wingman, approach a random girl, mentality. Even though I freeze up on occasion, I'm still the bold one when it comes to talking to girls, it seems. You really have to gauge the situation to see how to approach a girl if she is with friends. There is no right, one size fits all, answer when it comes to that. But the common denominator is to just say "f**k it" and go and walk up to her.
