I think this is accurate. It will just depend on the country. Here in Thailand they don't ask US citizens anything about their criminal record I don't believe. I have read the same thing about Brazil, but don't know first hand.

Can they pull up your arrest record when entering a country and just decide they don't want to let you in if they don't like what's on there?
