I lived in Quebec (Montreal) for some time and it was a great place to be. However, this recent ruling is fucking absurd. Basically if you're living with a girl for a year and you split up, then she is entitled to everything that a married woman would be entitled to. Disgusting.
Aside from getting the $400,000 in child support per year she also was awarded the $56,000/month (672,000/year) in alimony payments she requested, ON TOP OF the $20MM as lump sum. I really hope the ruling is overturned. This is the last straw.
