My point being, there is no such thing as a placebo. You either get the desired result OR you don't. Placebo was just invented by the pharmaceutical industry to discount alternative treatment methods.
It's also been shown that people in AA are successful because the mere belief in a greater power can change their reality. I'm not discrediting the placebo effect as a powerful thing.
But I'd like people to stop spreading so much anecdote and speculation. This is new ground and there is way too much misinformation.
