oogabear I have no problem with women getting equal pay.
My definition of equal pay:
- man works job a with qualifications b and gets wage c
- woman works job a with qualifications b and gets wage c
- on paper the only thing that they differ in is sex.
NOT
- man works job a with qualifications b and gets wage c
- woman works job a with no qualifications for the same wage. ie. hiring to maintain a certain number of women in the work force. the woman is less qualified to work the job. the more qualified man gets fucked.
In short. No one has any right to complain if a better candidate is hired for a job. They should complain if there is preferential hiring based on non-job related stuff. ie. hiring a woman simply because shes a woman and corporate headquarters requires 50% female workers.
A lot of feminists use data pulled from over-all wages. Of course there are going to be more male CEOs making lots of cash. They were getting experience while the women either weren't born yet or were still in school or were protesting. The men had the opportunities that women didn't have back in the day and there is no reason why the older dudes should be punished for that.
