Women get paid the same as men for equal work. Subject to market forces, people should get paid for what they do. If you want teo reasons why men should get paid more for what is otherwise the same work, there are two that come to mind. One is that women as a group tend to cost employers more due to time off, and complications regarding holding their position during mat leave (depending on the law in your jurisdiction) plus the more recent nonsense about #metoo.
The second reason is that men end up - or at least are expected to - pay for women. On the micro-level that is changing somewhat as women are more open to splitting expenses or going dutch on a date. Still, women largely remain committed to the idea of dating and marrying a guy who makes more than them, say by 20%. Until that attitude changes (fat chance) society just gets fucked up if women are actually earning the same as men.
On the macro-level, women soak up more social services than men. They even want free birth control, free abortions and tax breaks on their hygiene products.
Not that these are good reasons, but certainly better than the fruitloop idea of a "man tax" because more crime is committed by men. Men aren't trying to socialize those expenses and insure themselves against the financial and other consequences of their decisions.
