New Orleans Data Sheet

New Orleans Data Sheet

Trying to organize this as best as I can. This is my first data sheet.

This is by no means a complete guide to New Orleans, as I only had 1 full day to take this city in, and it wasn't during Mardi Gras. I did do a fair bit of exploring though and this city is definitely worth a visit. GManifesto can probably help me put the rest of this together since he sounds like a New Orleans expert.

I was in town at what I think must have the calm before the storm, as the NCAA Final 4 was the following weekend and I think Tulane and LSU might have been on spring break. That being said, I'll give my breakdown of this place.

Getting to New Orleans:

Flights are pretty expensive right now, but New Orleans is an easy place to get in and out of. The only thing I see wrong with this city is that there isn't a public transportation system that gets you to the airport. Downtown New Orleans is 13 miles from the airport. There are airport shuttles and taxis that take you to downtown, but its usually in the range of $30-40. Hotels in downtown don't offer shuttle service to and from the airport, so that can get a bit expensive.

Getting around New Orleans:

Downtown is small enough to walk everywhere, provided that the weather is cooperative. In the event that weather isn't so cooperative, taxis are abundant and not too expensive because you aren't going very far to get to Bourbon Street and the rest of the main attractions.

Where to stay:

As long as you're staying anywhere in downtown, you can get to any other part of downtown because everything is within walking distance. I stayed at the Hilton on Poydras Street, and this hotel would probably be an instant DHV. Any of the nice upscale hotels would be instant DHV. They usually go for $150-200/night. For the purposes of ONS and SNL, stay near Bourbon Street. There are both smaller name and big name upscale hotels nearby, and probably ideal for SNL/ONS.

Day game:

Didn't do much of this, but during peak tourist times, there are several spots in downtown where you day game lovers can spit. Add this to the fact that you can take your alcohol in the street with you and you get tipsy girls who are open and in many cases easy. At the time I was there, it wasn't too crowded but there were still plenty of options.

Riverwalk Mall:
This is the mall underneath the Hilton on Poydras where I stayed. I had no idea the hotel had a mall underneath it, but my friend and I explored this place and this would be a great spot to instadate in. It also has a Cafe du Monde and it sits right along the Mississippi River. This is a great instadate spot and another great spot to swoop girls at. Plenty of clothing stores where you can talk to girls as well. A huge food court will also have plenty of options as well, especially because every place there serves hurricanes.

Cafe du Monde:

The original Cafe du Monde on Decatur Street is open 24/7 and an underrated spot where you can take a girl to late at night or before you get going. Just make sure not to fill up on too much gumbo or jambalaya beforehand.

Bourbon Street:

This place has got to be one of the easiest places to daygame during heavy tourist traffic. Imagine women day drinking in the street and opening you in many cases. Go custom suited down like GManifesto and you'll get a lot of attention and opened a lot. I wasn't even fully suited down, but girls were opening me because I was dressed a lot better than literally EVERY other dude on the street.

I didn't try this, but if I ever go back, I am definitely going to buy some beads and carry them on me. I saw several girls flash for beads and was thinking how easy it would be to go from that to a swoop.

Every other place on Bourbon Street is a bar or strip club, and they are all alive and kicking during the day. Traffic is probably heavier most times of the year than when I went. It was also raining on and off, which probably kept a bunch of people and tourists indoors for those days. Bourbon Street even had a power outage the last night that I was there.

Other areas:

As I mentioned earlier, this isn't a complete data sheet, so I can only vouch for one other place, which is the Harrahs Casino on Poydras Street. It's right across the street from the Hilton. Plenty of tipsy and drunk girls show up here. There are so many bars in the casino that all serve, in addition to the standard full liquor bar, hurricanes.

Canal Street has some nice stores and a mini mall on it, but we didn't really get a chance to explore.

Night game:

Bourbon Street is where all the nightlife is in New Orleans. Tulane University has a few clubs, but we didn't get a chance to go there. They were also on spring break at the time, so I figured it would have been pointless.

Here's how my night on Bourbon Street went. Within the first 50-100 feet that you walk down the street, you immediately see people with drinks in their hands, tipsy and drunk girls flashing for beads even though it isn't Mardi Gras, and a ton of strip clubs. The street literally alternates bars and strip clubs with an occasional classy establishment or restaurant in between. When you get to St. Anne Street, you start to see some gay clubs. Didn't explore those, but given what people say about gay clubs on here I suppose it could be a nice venue to find girls with their guard down. Oh wait this is Bourbon Street...

First stop was Bourbon Street Blues Company. This place is busy both day and night with a good crowd. They play top 40 and have a guy acting as emcee on the stage of the place. Girls are so open here you can go caveman on them. Even groups of girls that I dealt with and opened weren't cockblocking at all. I got opened a lot because I was dressed better than these guys in jeans and t shirts. Some guys classed it up a little more with V-necks t shirts.

I stayed here for a little while because I went to work on the only Indian girl there. My friend was there to help me distract one of her friends while I isolated and got this girl even more tipsy. My friend with very little game was faring well with the Indian girl's friend, and this girl was way above the girls he normally hits on in looks, body, and overall.

I convinced the girl and her friend to bounce to Scores and this somehow got the girls even more wet, so taking them back to the hotel was cake even though we had to walk back to Poydras Street. Tuth, thanks for your SNL guide. Wouldn't have been able to do this without that.

I smashed the Indian girl for the rest of the night. Woke up and smashed again before parting ways.

Overall:

I would definitely come back here. My friend called it Vegas-lite, and I totally believe it. This place has got to be pretty easy, and I think girls have a Vegas-like mentality here too. If you players get a chance to visit. I'd like to come back and try to do some strip club gaming.

Here's a picture of the girl I smashed.
