Chefs are big stars, so it's almost like riding piggyback on their popularity. I'm a huge proponent of men being able to at least hook up some basic dishes, if not for a chick, for yourself. Wine with food is a good way to get them to drink without it appearing you're simply doing it to get them drunk. I know there's a school of guys that don't believe in putting effort or energy into anything for a chick you haven't fucked yet, but I don't believe in that. As mentioned, it's a great way to show value and command.
