A Belt is not made for specific exercises of: you should wear a belt while doing these.......but, not for doing these. Oh wait, I take that back...if you are doing Yoga, of any kind, you do not need to wear a belt.
So, asking me to tell you which weight exercise(s) merit a belt, and which don't, does not really make sense. Any exercise that you are adding excess weight to your back, and groin areas (basically all weight training), you should be wearing a belt.
Me personally, from the moment I walk into a gym to do weight training, I wear my belt. However, maybe your testicles are just not that important to you, as mine are to me
