This might sound a bit lame but it’s worked for me a couple of times – my bait is British chocolate and snacks. I’m from the UK originally and I live in LA; every time I come back from UK I bring a shitload of snacks and chocolates with me.
When I meet a woman from online for a drink, at some point in the evening I’ll mention that UK and the US differ in certain ways…when she says how, I’ll say that I think that British chocolate tastes better.
I’ll plant the seed in her mind, and then bring it up again a few drinks later, and this time I’ll mention that I’ve got some at my place and she should come over to my place to try some. If she’s willing to come over, the bang is on.
If she’s not willing to come over that night, for a second meeting I suggest a movie with British tea and chocolates at my place. If she agrees to come over, then usually there will be a bang.
Women in the US love chocolate, especially if it’s from Europe.
If I run out of chocolate and need to buy more, it's available from Indian stores and Cost Plus World Market.
