Post your Predictions ....

Lets take a look at how I fared for my 2014 predictions.

In the manosphere
Some huge issue draws the manosphere to record levels of national attentions, potentially around the lack of due process around college campuses sexual offenses

Correct - The UVA rape story was a huge story but didn't focus quite as much on the manosphere as I likely imagined. What's interesting is the intellectual debate around certain topics is picking up manosphere ideas and not necessarily crediting them, which could be a good thing overall. Additionally GamerGate brought the manosphere to record awareness.

Vigilante groups start attacking manosphere and dox key personalities or expose all details of forum members (please invest in security Roosh!)

Mostly correct - Doxxing has become a big issue and some notable people related to gamer-gate have been affected. We haven't seen any very high profile attacks though.

In the US:
Record highs on the stockmarket
Continued slow recovery of unemployment and slow lowering of the deficit
Correct - The bears and doom and gloom crowd continue to miss gains in the stock market. To top it off they were likely heavy gold and commodities and not only missed upside but got a huge wack from the falling oil prices.

Obamacare starts becoming less of a drag on democratic party and 2014 elections are a wash for dems and reps
Immigration reform finally passes with a path to citizenship for most illegals
Semi-Correct - Obamacare is likely more popular now and enrollment is definitely up but we have seen some notable democrats attack it a bit. It remains to be seen if it will be a real negative in the 2016 election for democrats. Immigration reform did not pass but Obama acted alone.

Other states pass weed legalization/decriminalization

Correct - The pro-weed lobby continues to get higher.

Hillary starts looking inevitable to be the next president, but an anti-Hillary progressive wing starts looking for a candidate to consolidate around
Correct - Elizabeth Warren is a household name among most democrats who want someone more progressive than Hillary but she won't run. Jim Webb is the only other person who has gotten any buzz on the democratic side.

Ukraine instability gets worse with talk of potential breakup of the country
Semi-Correct - With the jet liner and other unresolved issues the regional stability isn't there yet.

Thailand instability gets worse and the Thai King finally passes reigniting a crisis
Mostly incorrect - Thailand was fairly stable this year and the King still reigns.

One other TBD country has a major leadership crisis
Incorrect? - We didn't see Cuba, Venezuela, Egypt, North Korea or any other really notable countries have a real leadership crisis. The closest thing you cold argue was Hong Kong protests.

Assad still in power in Syria by end of 2014
Iran negotiations go well and talks of attacking Iran become muted
Correct - But the middle east is a mess still regardless.

The negative effects of Japan's money printing begin to finally get noticed and taken seriously near the end of 2014
Mostly Incorrect - Yen continued to weaken, Japan went into recession but the money printing is still full force and the talk of Japan potentially defaulting or having some kind of currency crisis hasn't really occurred this year.

Overall not a bad record, looks about like a 10 good calls and 3 not so good ones. How'd everyone else do?

Time to start thinking about 2015 predictions.
