I agree with this, but I think that a lot of what is going on is women getting married in their 30s rather than their 20s, that is, when they are past their prime but still fertile.
The biological clock continues to tick and they hear it loud and clear. Many of them wait til much later in the clock, five minutes to midnight so to speak, but most will still not go past that. For most, the biological imperative cannot be so easily turned off.
