I'm by no means a high powered guy, but I do go to these events and bringing a woman who knows how to behave is key. One big aspect of my last LTR was the fact that while she was pretty, thin and feminine, her ability to behave at events was a big reason why I stayed with her. Most women are incapable of this, including the ones who work in the field.
