Sort of similar to the "courtesy of indifference" topic I started recently.
Bottom line, this guy doesn't get the courtesy of indifference from the status quo, while the others do.
It probably has something to do with it being more difficult to categorize him. They try to categorize him as gay, yet by his behavior around women, they know he probably isn't. He probably doesn't dress like a hipster either (this would make him easier to categorize). At the same time, he's not the most macho guy. For whatever reason, this really upsets people in most of America.
