It's another major reason things "look" different when you first arrive. In the west, body shape plays a large role in attractiveness.
But everything is relative. Once you acclimate to Asia, busted and plain faces become much more of turn-off, given that there are so many bodies that are essentially the same shape. So your standards start creeping up.
Pretty much, it is unavoidable. I'm not saying either that guys shouldn't just go for the girls they find attractive when they get here, but your own rating does change doesn't it?
That said, there are tons of very attractive darker girls here who are hot as hell, but simply because of their skin color are overlooked by most Thai guys. Those are the ones where you can really trade up. The only problem is that the temptation for those girls to join some kind of prostitution is also always there if she is working some low level job. You know, just the other day, the girl in 7-11 couldn't have been more than 18 or 19 and very pretty and petite, but brown. Didn't speak a word of English of course. If you had good Thai, then go for those girls before the temptation to join the farang racket sets in.
