Blame women's behavior on technology, as others have said. Social media and texting have brought out the worst in them.

It wasn't always this way.

From around 1993-2007 we went through a fantastic "intermediate" period of technology, where we were all on AIM and Yahoo Messenger anonymously and it was easy to meet women. They weren't using their real names, and as such were unselfconscious and didn't have bitch shields up. Plus, since the technology was new, it all felt surreal and people acted like they were at a party.

But then we had to go to "real names," and women became more interested in "image-burnishing." What we're dealing with now is the LinkedIn/public version of women, not the AIM version. We got the "real" women (horny, perverse, and fun) when they were all under pseudonyms.

Because as Oscar Wilde once said "Man is least himself when he talks in his own person. Give him a mask, and he will tell you the truth." AOL and Yahoo once provided such a mask. Zuckerberg and texting (and even OKC and Match) stripped it away.

People think of technology as an accoutrement, but don't get that it begets entire realms of human behavior. The most obvious example is that if men hadn't invented household appliances, women like Betty Friedan wouldn't have had time to sit around writing inventing feminism since running a household would have consumed all her time. The replacement of AIM and Yahoo with texting and Facebook took women from a fun Roaring Twenties mindset to an uptight '70s feminist one.
