Madrid is a frying pan in the summer. Cool city though (culturally).
Prices are about the same. Barcelona can be more in the tourist clubbing traps.
Girls are better in Madrid, but Barcelona has tourist girls that are fly and much easier than Catalan women.
Both cities have places to party every night of the week. But I would say that Madrid has more energy.
Having said this, I would never go to inland Spain in the summer. And I still prefer Barcelona. The vibe just fits me better.
