The whole integration issue is also an interesting one. What exactly do you mean when you talk about integration? To some, it means abandoning EVERYTHING about their heritage, and transforming in such a way to make those of the culture they are supposedly integrating into comfortable with their presence. Naturally, they should learn the language, but what else? Also, comparing the US to other nations that aren't diverse isn't a fair comparison, because the US was built by immigrants from the beginning. Today other countries welcome immigrants to provide labor, but in many ways won't allow them to truly integrate. Yeah, it's okay if you work FOR us, but you can't build your own. Yeah, you can live here, but you can't live in the areas where WE live.
Non-Whites helped build America, but yet you still hear the "this is a White, Christian nation" declaration. Those people are EVERY bit the American, yet are still seen as interlopers or visitors - people that are only to be tolerated. You complain that various ethnicities have their own organizations, etc., yet they were forced to band together because they were discriminated against and excluded by Whites. So in many ways in America, it was Whites against everyone else. Whites resisted every attempt by non-whites to be fully vested Americans, equal to Whites. It's as if we're saying racism against non-Whites by Whites NEVER existed, and still doesn't. Perhaps Whites are called racist because so often they've spoken in derogatory terms against non-Whites. Even on this forum, it's all in when discussing the pathologies of non-White groups - it goes on for pages and pages. However, when the light is shined back a little, White guys get a little sensitive and defensive. The breakdown of the history of Jews, and why societies reacted to them in that fashion was very enlightening, but you also have to acknowledge that minority groups in the history of the United States can level many of the same charges against Whites here. If we're being truthful and honest, you have to acknowledge that.
