I think soup said it right, you can upgrade them, but always let them know they gotta do better in the future. Reward and dread, as others like CH have noted.
I've kinda gone the other way. I've been into hour glass and voluptuous, now I want fit, slender, elegant.
As I get stronger and fitter, I'm less willing to accept chicks that border on sloppy.
