If you are from an English speaking country and speak Russian, It would be hard for me to tell what country you are from unless you start speaking English. I would imagine it would be even harder for Russians who live in Russia and speak little or no English.
There are some recognizable accents, though. For example, French, Georgian (country, not state), Armenian. People even mock these accents, so they are easy to recognize.
