Women do appreciate and value intelligence in a man, it just depends at what stage you're at and the women you're dealing with. Foreign women generally like it right up front (Asian, Russians, etc). American women prefer it further down the road. However, to dovetail into what reaper said above, even in DC, flat out stating your credentials won't get it wet or even impress them. You have to kind of approach it from the side and sneak it in there once they are already attracted to you.
