It's crazy how passive the bystanders are.
I was about to suggest that this is due to the Chinese city mindset of minding one's own business (and looking out for yourself).
But now that I think about it, would the reaction from the spectators be that much different in other countries?
I remember seeing a youtube video of a social experiment involving a woman slapping a man in various different settings (in the US), and only in a few cases did anyone actually intervene.
