So I did my first day of work today working in Manhattan. $4 bus ride from where I live in Bergen County to Port Authority at 42nd street. Like $2 to take the subway downtown. 3 block walk to the office. Less than an hour total commute. Not too bad.
Now here's the tricky part. I need to relocate back down to Monmouth County. I think the way to go is to take the Park and Ride from one of the rest areas on the Parkway into Port Authority.
From the Cheesequake rest area(Sayreville Area) to Port Authority is a 45 min ride. 10 trip ticket is $130. That's 5 round trip tickets for the week.
From the Asbury rest area(Wall) to Port Authority is 90 minutes and the same exact price ...$130 for 5 round trip tickets.
I tried all the train stops and they are all like 2 hours each and about the same price.
Does anybody know about commuter discounts from NJ to NYC?
