Regardless, most of the pro-American and anti-European comments you hear give the impression from all the capitalism and freedom of business talk that Americans can just work hard and magically end up better off than Europeans. It’s a fantasy that implies that the masses who are barely getting by are all just lazy. Hard work alone will not get you rich in the US because you’ll also need luck, especially to get to the top percentiles in income that make it much more advantageous to live in the US.
