I will be coming to Osaka/Nagoya for two months this summer as part of an English teaching camp thing through my school. It seems like my job will consist of being a big dumb American that little Japanese kids get to poke and laugh at. Outside of the camps they will set me up with a home stay with a family, which could prove to be quite odd, as well as hotels which means I will get a little free time.
Do you have any advice for a newcomer to Japan/Osaka as far as what to bring, how to prepare myself etc? I'm glad to hear you just wear a button up and jeans because I think the Japanese dude style is extremely gay.
