A while ago, I went to the local library and asked the librarian to direct me towards the section which had the Brazilian books, movies and tapes. She asked me "they speak Spanish there, right?" I couldn't believe it since a librarian is supposed to be more cultured than an average person, but no, she goofed it on something as basic yet fundamental as the language spoken by the biggest country in South America. Unreal!
I've also had a college professor, believe it or not, asking me if I had been to Buenos Aires, the capital of Brazil!![[Image: troll.gif]](https://rooshvforum.network/images/smilies/new/troll.gif)

^^ This !! Or Americans saying stuff like " the world is watching" when they get on their local TV station and stuff. I love America ... but outside of the coasts, most of the country has a very funny idea of what the world is.
Living in the midwest, people usually ask me where I'm from because of my accent and facial aesthetics. When i tell them I'm from Brazil they usually get a stupid look on their face , force a smile and say " thats so cool !".
I used to follow up with ... "do you know where that is ?.
I shit you not , I've got .... "Europe", "somewhere in Puerto Rico", " next to Russia maybe ", " Is that like in Italy ?" , "close to Iraq" etc ...
I just dont comprehend how it is possible to live in such a bubble in a fucking 1st world country in this century of the internet and information overload. If people in 3rd world countries were that ignorant you could argue it's because they got more pressing matters to attend to. Like surviving the next day.
