Paying just to enter a place of business does not make sense.
The worse one I saw was in Peru. There was a club that had ladies night. Girls entered for free and drank for free for serveral hours. Guys? Had to pay to get in. Cover charge did not even include one free drink. Nothing.
The worst part? For the period the girls were drinking for free, guys were not even allowed to enter the bar. Not even if they paid cover. They had to wait outside until the girls "free" drinking period was over (at which point most girls left).
Of course the girls are not drinking for "free". The girls drinks are being paid for by the stupid horny guys whose game is so bad that they are happy to not only buy drinks for girls who are complete strangers but are happy to be locked out of the bar whilst they drink them in the vain hope that their poor excuse for game will be good enough to get some action with drunk girls when they are finally let in.
This is very geographically dependent. At least in NY you do get what you pay for when it comes to clubs. I actually prefer clubs that charge a high cover fee as long as women pay the same amount to get in. $25+ cover fee keeps the riff raff, Guetto folks and orange colored "Jersey Shore" dudes out of the fucking club. Also, I find women more prettier, slimmer, friendly and cooperative in clubs with high cover than I do in free or cheaper venues.
