Jackson Heights, Queens

Jackson Heights is an extremely diverse neighborhood in Queens, New York. Most of its residents are Hispanic, although countless nationalities are represented. It is often considered to be a Colombian neighborhood, although there is some dispute as to whether there is presently a stronger Colombian or Ecuadorian presence in the neighborhood. The biggest Hispanic groups there are Colombian, Ecuatorian, Dominican, Peruvian, and Mexican. There is also a strong South Asian community from India and Pakistan. The South Asian part of the neighborhood appears to be largely segregated from the Hispanic part of the neighborhood. You will know when you are in which area.

Getting there:
It has been written in this thread and in others that you can get to Jackson Heights via the 7 train. This is entirely correct. The 7 can take you from Times Square in Manhattan directly to the Jackson Heights subway station. You can also get to Jackson Heights via the M and E trains. Both of these trains of course leave from Manhattan. The E train is the best choice, because it is an express train with fewer stops than the 7 or the M. Please be advised that the E train is not always running and you are sometimes forced to resort to the 7 or the M. I think the creator of the E train may very well have been an international playboy himself. He needed to create the quickest route to pull girls in Jackson Heights. Taxis can get you from Manhattan to Jackson Heights pretty fast, but they can be expensive. The way that New York taxi drivers drive often makes me sick. I also avoid driving in New York completely. Take the E. If it's not running take either the 7 or the M.

Nightlife:
Nightlife in Jackson Heights is almost exclusively bailaderos. These are bars in which girls are employed to dance with the almost exclusively male customers and to encourage them to buy drinks. These places were discussed on at least one other thread and there was a bit of a difference of opinion on them. One poster was raving about them, while Mixx did not like the idea of paying a girl to dance with you. Interestingly, I was never asked to pay a girl to dance with me. The girls in these places are generally not good dancers. Many of then can't dance and some, who are mostly Dominican, are decent, but not great, dancers. The girls who work in these places will often ask you to buy them drinks. The drinks for the girls are often two, three, or more times the price of the drinks which you buy for yourself. If you spend an inordinate amount of time in these places, you will end up spending too much money and will quite possibly have little or no success. Treat these places like strip clubs. Go in, find the best girls there, try to get some girls' numbers, maybe buy a drink for yourself or even for one of the girls, and move on to the next bailadero. There are so many of these places on Roosevelt Avenue that you can hit many of them in just one night. I spent a fair amount of time in the bailaderos this summer and will give you a breakdown.

Casanovas:
This place was discussed on another thread and was possibly the most popular of the bailaderos. To the best of my knowledge, this place no longer exists.

La Nueva Escuelita:
This place has the best talent of all the bailaderos I went to. It also has the most expensive drinks and the most aggressive girls as far as pressuring you to buy drinks. I did pick up one notch from there this summer. Because of the quality, this place should be tried, but anyone who goes there will probably agree with me on the overall annoyance of the girls there.

Melao:
It appears that this place is relatively new, but I believe it previously existed in another location. In my opinion, this place has the best set-up, attitude, and overall vibe of all the bailaderos. Unfortunately, the talent is somewhat lacking. I went on a date with an Ecuadorian girl from there, but didn't get the notch.

The place right next to Melao (I cannot remember the name for the life of me. If it comes to me I will post it):
The talent in this place is pretty low, but the bartenders, most of whom are Colombian, are much better than the other girls who work there. The is an Ecuadorian girl who bartends there who for some reason decided to cockblock me by telling the girls that I am her husband. I have no idea what that was about. I have her number and may give her a call the next time I go to New York.

Mangos:
This appears to be the most popular of the bailaderos. I went there on a weekend night and the place was completely packed and the girls were all with guys. The talent appeared to be pretty good, but I cannot say that it is better than La Nueva Escuelita.

Other bailaderos are Hairo's (interesting spelling), La Jungla, and Castillo's. I have never been to any of those places, but any information on them would be appreciated.

Restaurants:
Listo El Pollo is a Colombian Restuarant in Jackson Heights which is sometimes called the Colombian Hooters. It has attractive girls working as waitresses there. The food is decent, but not great, but in my opinion, all the girls who work there are acceptable. There is also a bar there. Although I have seen attractive girls by themselves at the bar, it is almost all guys there. Go there to eat and maybe get some numbers.

Seba Seba:
This is a Colombian style diner or coffee shop. It is good for getting natural juices or some snacks like empanadas.

La Pequena Colombia:
This place has typical Colombian food much like Listo El Pollo. The waitresses don't look nearly as good though.

I was very impressed with the tacos which can be purchased from the varios taco trucks in Jackson Heights. They have tacos al pastor and the tacos are really cheap.

Daygame spots:

Roosevelt Avenue
Broadway
37th Avenue

Queens Center Mall in Elmhurst. I realize that it is not technically in Jackson Heights, but it is close-by and is accessible via the M train. This place is hit or miss. You may need to go there multiple times to have any remote success there.

Hotels:
I stayed at the Wyndham Garden in Long Island City. Don't let the words Long Island fool you. This hotel is one subway stop from Manhattan and a few subway stops from Jackson Heights via the 7,E, or M train. This is a new hotel, is relatively inexpensive, and if you drive to New York, you can park safely on the street. They were in the process of completing a parking lot for the hotel, but as of early August, the lot was still not complete. The hotel is two to three blocks from the Court Square-23rd Street subway station which serves the E and M lines. You can take an underground pathway to the Court Square station which serves the 7 and G lines. The G line can take you to Brooklyn. It took me a while to figure out the underground pathway. It is best just to ask someone.

Another hotel option which is actually closer to Jackson Heights is the Panamerican Hotel in Elmhurst. This is very convenient to the Queens Plaza Mall, which is a prime daygame spot. This hotel is slightly less expensive than the Wyndham Garden and looks somewhat impressive on the website. In real life, it looks pretty worn. I cannot comment on the rooms there as I have never been in one. One benefit of the Panamerican is that it has a latin club on the first floor which is somewhat popular on Friday and Saturday nights. I went to the club on a Friday and the only thing resembling talent was the two girls behind the bar, one Peruvian and one Calena. They were giving me tons of IOS's and I was trying to at least numberclose them when two 250 pound Colombian girls came up and starting grabbing me and I couldn't get rid of them. I'm not making that one up. I wish I were. Cockblock of the century.
