Are scammy hyped up sales pages what is required to sell products these days? I've been looking into doing some copywriting and it seems that all of them follow the same formula. Personally when I read like 95% of sales pages my BS detector goes through the roof. I'm naturally a skeptical person, but I guess whatever sells.
Scammy and hype are not the same thing. Hype isn't a bad thing as long as you're not lying about the product.
Yes, hype can increase sales. The formula works and has worked for many years in direct mail.
If you actually followed the path of a person reading your sales letter, you would get a better understanding of why those sales letters are structured the way they are.
People don't read line for line, the scroll up and down a lot. They scan the page without reading top to bottom.
Those hypey headlines hopefully pull them in long enough to get them interested.
