I don't consider it subtle trolling. I consider it an acknowledgement of reality. While game is great, too many guys in "the community" seem to speak about it as if it is some super amulet that neutralizes everything else. The fact that there is even a debate on whether looks/money/status/fame matter illustrates this.
Its like folks want to believe that they can be a 5'4" pudgy guy with a receding hairline who is unemployed and lives with his mom, but if they can just get 10 minutes to run some game on Beyonce and show how "alpha" they are they will be fucking her in the backseat of Jay-Z's Maybach in under an hour, because game beats everything, doesn't it?
That makes for a good story, and would probably sell books, home study courses, and seminars, but it doesn't acknowledge reality. The reality is that looks, status, money, and fame DO MATTER, and it is by understanding how, why, and when they matter that we can improve our own game.
It might hurt people's feelings, but that is the way it is. I am not saying that the better looking/more famous/richer guy will ALWAYS be able to pull EVERY girl from a less attractive/unknown/poorer guy regardless of how much game the lesser guy has, but it does matter.
Part of what makes THIS FORUM great is that on some level we understand this and EXPLOIT IT. This is why so many guys travel (particularly to developing nations). As an American (or Brit, Canadian, etc) you get a boost in status/money relative to the locals in these countries.
If you don't believe me, read some of the earliest Colombia threads, then read some of the most recent one's. Pay special attention to MiXX's evaluation of Colombia back in 2000 with how it is now. Did MiXX's game get worse 10 years later? Did he become less alpha? No. Our status as American's has lowered, thus it is harder to pull. Status DOES matter. The same thing happens with money.
Rather than ignoring these issues and simply say "game trumps everything, every time", lets take this information and figure out how we can use it to our advantage.
The game dogma that supports all this is that STATUS=BEHAVIOR IN THE MOMENT. Bullshit.
Status is a socially constructed position based on a set of relationships, access to resources, and distribution channels. Cold approaching, in and of itself, is not a high status behavior, and many times it conveys a low status, particularly when executed alone at a club.
Attraction is mostly to the external, not internal. It's not about some "personal quality" that attracts the women to these men. It's the fact that men have this position in society that gives them celebrity status, or a dominant position, such as that of professor.
For a lot of guys they are in their own little fantasy where they indulge constantly in the "cult of game".
Celebrities have it better. Not only do they get way more access to much better pussy, they can get much more of it with a tenth of the effort a normal guy would have to put in to get less than a tenth of the results. Fact.
And yes, in certain foreign countries, if you fit into the "sexy stereotype" that 3rd world girl has of white men, or black men, or whatever she has seen in movies and music videos, that's probably the single biggest help to getting in between her legs other than direct fame, or even good game.
The thing is, this isn't "game denialism", this is just the way the world works. You know what happens when you buy too much into "game theory"? It becomes a dogmatic belief system for betas to rationalize people without game getting laid, and it becomes a religion to make you feel better about yourself and the world.
In the same way that only a few famous men, or extremely rich men get the pick of all the hotties, only a few men with extremely good game, escalation, and other personal characters can bed hot women.
Men with insane game are rare as well. Many of them combine status, or looks to get results.
