Fort Worth Data Sheet

Fort Worth Data Sheet

I moved from Phoenix to Fort Worth about two months ago and thought I would add my observations on the city. Jack Frost gives good information which agrees with my impressions, and I'll add a bit more. There are two main places for nightlife in Fort Worth- the area around Sundance Square in downtown and the West 7th Street area about two miles west of downtown. I live in the West 7th Street area and logistics simply don't get any better- I live above some popular bars and restaurants and it's the easiest thing in the world to have a girl meet me at one of them and then bounce upstairs to my place.

There aren't a lot of places here that are suitable for the solo player, but a couple worth trying are the Library and Embargo downtown and Bar Louie in the West 7th area. The Library is a large chain meat market kind of place where everyone gets really drunk. I don’t go here much as I prefer clubs, but I can see that it would be worth my while to spend more time here. I spend most of my time at Embargo. There are a lot of couples that come here to dance to the live music, but the single girls that are there are much more open than in other places. I'm usually the only white guy there, and plenty of the girls seem to like it- I'm often opened quite aggressively by girls here. Quality is across the board, but there are plenty of gems. I've been banging out a cute Mexicana bartendress here (who opened me as I walked by on my first night here), adding to my ample collection of Mexican flags. Unlike Jack Frost, I've been on a Latina kick lately (and love mojitos) and this is a good place to find not only Mexicans but girls from everywhere in Central and South America. There is a bartender here that looks just like Fidel Castro. Bar Louie attracts the sorority girl/frat douche crowd from TCU (as does almost everywhere in the West 7th area). People here go out in groups and I don't think it is suitable for solo hunting, though it is a great place to bring a girl and they have a popular rooftop patio.

A couple of other things to see in Fort Worth that were not previously mentioned are the Botanical Gardens and the Kimball Museum. The Botanical Gardens are spectacular and free and make a great place for a daytime date. I inadvertently happened upon a great bouncing move my first time here: The Gardens are just around the corner from where I live and, as luck would have it, do not sell water or even have a water fountain anywhere on the grounds. So after taking a Brazilian girl here for a couple of hours in the afternoon about a month ago, she became thirsty and of course where is a place close by to get some water? After coming upstairs for a quick drink, she stayed for the next eight hours. The Kimball Museum has a truly world-class art collection with some famous pieces that you may be surprised reside in Fort Worth. Caravaggio is one of my famous painters, and his The Cardsharps is here, as well as works from Duccio, Michelangelo, El Greco, Cezanne, Gauguin, and Picasso.

I think that too much has been made about the relatively friendliness of Fort Worth girls in contrast to girls from Dallas. I get a good reception whenever I go to Dallas, and the spoiled daddy’s girl/frat douche phenomenon that Jack Frost mentioned pollutes a lot of interactions with the ladies in Fort Worth. However, I’ve noticed that plenty of girls here are not shy about going after what they want (like my Embargo bartendress). Recently, a Freebirds burrito shop opened up on West 7th. Their food is mediocre, but I don’t go there for the food: this place is packed with young college (though not TCU) girls who flirt aggressively (at least with me). A girl gamed me from over the counter my second time here and wrote her phone number unsolicited on my burrito bag. I admire that kind of initiative and it makes dealing with attitude from the others much easier to take. Pickup was the last thing on my mind when I first came here- I just wanted some Mexican to cure my hangover, but after that kind of reception and seeing the talent that works here I’ve been finding more and more reasons to hang out here. As for Dallas, I’ve only been to restaurants and shopping places, though I tend to date girls from Dallas rather than Fort Worth, but I’ve been meaning to explore the nightlife in Dallas and will post my observations when I do. I also wouldn’t mind meeting any forum members who live in the DFW area. I prefer to hunt alone, but the nature of the venues in this area makes that difficult and much more would be accessible to me if a had a wingman.
