I am bumping this because I am doing a course on blockchain in my MBA. I had to come up with a Business Model that utilizes Blockchain. Though me and my team decided to do a ticket selling blockchain app, I flirted with other ideas. One was about consent and I remembered this thread.
I thought about a real time consent monitoring wearable device that is connected to a blockchain. There would be no swapping like the Legalfling app. One just has to wear the device as a wristband just like the fitbit. The device will keep recording your consent by monitoring your heart pressure, brain activity and alcohol levels.
Based on the data collected, it can in real time determine if the interaction taking place is consensual. Both the guy and girl would be wearing the device and would be connected to each other in the network. Each interaction would be a smart contract and all the data will then be encrypted and recorded to the blockchain as hashes.
Only the girl and boy, as participants, will have a key to unlock the blockchain. The data will be private. If there is an issue such as a sexual harrasment allegation then either participant can unlock and show what really transpired.
The result would be that any time a girl has a guilt trip about the enjoyable sex she had, she would not be able to blame shit on anybody. The blockchain data cannot be refuted.
Another aspect would be that the blockchain would give data on alcohol intake. Whenever a high limit of alcohol content would be reached, the device would alert the girl that she has reached a high alcohol level and is not fit for anymore interaction. It would also alert the guy and her nearby friends through an automated message. Now if the girl continues drinking and interacting with the guy despite numerous warnings from the app and both the guy and her friends tried to stop her, then the blockchain will prove that it was the girl who knowingly got drunk and still wanted the guy. It would show that the girl pushed through the alcohol to have sex with the guy. No more excuse of 'getting drunk and therefore the sex was non consensual'.
Even though there are few flaws to this model such as the current technology to determine consent, adoption, artifical interaction vs natural interaction and no sex because of alchol, this kind of blockchain device might help solve lot of the false sexual harrasment allegations which girls often say were non consensual.
