Its not his real name, its actually Robert. For some reason he thought itd be a good idea to start calling himself beto.
His name is Robert Francis O'Rourke, he calls himself Beto because he wants to sound Mexican. He has repeatedly tried to join the house Hispanic caucus and been denied because he isn't any part Mexican not even 1/1024th. That was the joke, Cruz was trying to act white while Beto was trying to act like a bad hombre. In case his race confusion and dumb name wasn't enough, he also had a legit criminal history. He never would have been a viable candidate if he wasn't good at race baiting and being a charismatic socialist.
